Former Marquette Mutineers GM arrested for embezzlement

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man has been arrested on embezzlement charges.

On Friday Brice Burge, 28, was arrested on a two-count felony warrant for embezzlement—$1,000 to $20,000 from a non-profit or charitable organization and stealing/retaining a financial transaction device without consent.

The warrants stemmed from an investigation into Burge’s position with the Marquette Mutineers hockey team.

Burge posted 10 percent of a $15,000 bond and was released.

Arraignment is set for April 17 in Marquette County District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
