WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI-- A Wells Township garage has been heavily damaged by fire.
Escanaba Public Safety was called Tuesday around 11:25 p.m. to 6396 North 8th Street and found smoke coming from the detached garage and flames coming from the roof. An officer evacuated residents in the house, which was just a few feet from the garage.
The house sustained minor heat damage. The garage was seriously damaged before the fire was extinguished.
No residents were injured, but two officers sustained minor injuries during fire ground operations.
Public Safety was at the scene for about an hour and a half. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
