Fire kills Michigamme woman

MICHIGAMME, MI--   A house fire in Michigamme turned deadly on Sunday.  

State Police from the Negaunee Post say the fire at 326 West Lake Street was reported to 911 at 6 a.m.  When the Michigamme Fire Department arrived at the scene the second floor of the structure was fully engulfed. 

Officials say Colette Heasley, 46, was killed in the fire.  She had recently moved to the area, and was formerly from Osceola, Wisconsin and Chicago City, Minnesota.

The Michigan State Police Fire Marshal is helping to determine the cause of the fire. 

No further information is available at this time. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
