Finlandia students arrested for store break-in

HANCOCK, MI--   Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of guns and ammunition from the Northwoods Trading Post in Hancock Saturday.

WLUC-TV reports the breaking and entering happened around 4:15 a.m.  That afternoon Hancock Police officers went to Finlandia Hall and discovered three firearms and .40 caliber ammunition in an open desk drawer in one of the rooms.  The guns’ serial numbers matched those of the firearms taken from the Northwoods Trading Post.

Finlandia Students Alexander Santiago and Juan Carlos Pereyra were arrested Saturday and arraigned Monday on charges of breaking and entering with intent and larceny of firearms. A third suspect, Jake Hugall, turned himself in to Hancock Police Monday afternoon.  He’s also charged with breaking and entering with intent and larceny of firearms.

All remain lodged in the Houghton County Jail.
