Ferguson still on the lam

BESSEMER, MI--   Police continue to search for an inmate that escaped from the Gogebic County Jail Monday night.

Daniel Ferguson, 26, was last seen wearing black and white-striped pants and an orange t-shirt. He was barefoot, headed north on Moore Street in the city of Bessemer. Deputies report there was a possible sighting in the Powderhorn area of Bessemer Tuesday night.

Anyone with information about Ferguson’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Officials say all efforts are being made to take him into custody. Deputies are being assisted by Michigan State Police troopers and K-9 teams, the Ironwood Public Safety Department, Iron County Sheriff’s Department, Hurley Police Department, the Department of Natural Resources, and a Sawyer County, Wisconsin man with a tracking bloodhound.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
