Farmers market opening in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI-- The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market kicks off the 2015 season Saturday at the Marquette Commons.

It’s the 16^th year of the market, which will hold a grand opening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Officials say while the market will feature its usual vendors it will offer a handful of new ones, with 57 vendors in all. Shoppers can purchase local art, baked goods, produce, flowers, and live plants.

The Farmers Market will be held every Saturday—rain or shine—from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through December 19 at the Marquette Commons.
