Escanaba teens arrested for stealing

ESCANABA, MI--   Two teenaged girls are in custody, after they allegedly stole items from a vehicle in Escanaba last week.

Officers from Escanaba Public Safety say the owner of the vehicle claims he saw the teens take things from his truck, which was parked on the 1300 block of Ludington Street Wednesday just after midnight.

The girls were apprehended and lodged at the Bay Pines Detention Center.  Both are charged with theft from a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a police officer, and a health and safety violation.

Police are investigating other thefts that may be related to the case.
