Embezzlement abounds in Ontonagon County

ONTONAGON, MI--   Ontonagon County District Court is busy this week with three separate embezzlement cases.  

Amy Truscott of Ontonagon is charged with embezzlement of $100,000 or more.  She allegedly took the funds in the form of premiums in 2012 while employed at Rogers Insurance. 

A preliminary hearing is set for February 2. 

The second case involves Ontonagon resident Noah Arble, who is charged with embezzlement as an agent or trustee, $20,000 or more but less than $50,000.  He is accused of taking the money between 2012 and 2014 while treasurer of the local Habitat for Humanity. 

His preliminary exam is also set for February 2.

The third suspect is accused of taking money from the Aspirus Physical Therapy Center.  Their identity has not been released, pending arraignment, set for January 26. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
