Electronics collection to take place in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Superior Watershed Partnership wants to take old electronics off your hands. 

The Partnership and City of Marquette are holding a free collection of old or obsolete electronics later this month.  Accepted items include computers, monitors, laptops, printers, TVs, cell phones, stereo equipment, and microwaves.  “White goods” like refrigerators and dishwashers will also be accepted.  A 25-dollar fee must be paid to cover the removal of freon in any item. 

Anything that contains biohazards, hazardous waste, liquids of any type, fluorescent bulbs, and smoke detectors will not be accepted.

The collection will be held Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marquette Public Works building on Baraga Street.
