Ecstasy bust in Negaunee Township

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two Negaunee Township residents have been arrested in a drug bust by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

A 23-year-old woman and 22-year-old man were taken into custody at a residence on Midway Drive Tuesday. They were arrested on one count of conspiracy to deliver ecstasy and three counts of delivery of ecstasy.

UPSET detectives started an investigation into the suspects in June, when they received information the two were selling illegal narcotics.

Both are lodged at the Marquette County Jail. Their names are being withheld, pending arraignment.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
