Economic Club marks 40th year

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Economic Club of Marquette County is celebrating 40 years of bringing information to business owners and residents.

Club President Rich Tegge says it was formed in 1977 to keep people knowledgeable about economic issues that affect them. He says he’s proud that the Economic Club has been able to bring in high-quality speakers from across the spectrum over the past 40 years.

“The key thing is that we’ve been able to draw in a great list of speakers to keep the local community educated, not only what’s happening within our own community, but what’s affecting us nationally,” he says.

The first speaker in this year’s series is NPR Counterterrorism Correspondent Dina Temple-Raston. The meeting takes place Monday, September 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Marquette Ramada Inn.
