DNR welcomes new Conservation Officers

MARQUETTE, MI--   Six new DNR conservation officers are headed to work in the Upper Peninsula.

Twenty-two men and women graduated from Conservation Officer Recruit School Thursday after completing 23 weeks of training. The new officers will report for duty in their assigned counties and serve in a probationary capacity for one year.

One CO will serve in Marquette County, one in Delta, two officers in Gogebic County, one in Baraga, and one in Luce County. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
