DNR Citizens' Councils to meet in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Department of Natural Resources’ Eastern and Western U.P. Citizens’ Advisory Councils are meeting in the middle next week.

The two panels meet bi-monthly throughout the year, but once a year they come together in a central location to discuss pertinent issues.  Next Tuesday’s meeting features an update from research biologist Dean Beyer on the ongoing U.P. predator-prey study, and DNR U.P. Trails Coordinator Ron Yesney will discuss progress on the Iron Belle Trail.  A panel of DNR personnel will also talk about recreational, wildlife, and fisheries division grants.

The meeting will be held March 14 at 5:30 p.m. Eastern at the Marquette Township Community Center.

For more information call 228-6561.
