Dickinson County residents arrested in drug bust

CRIVITZ, WI--   A U.P. and Wisconsin drug investigation has resulted in the arrest of three people.

Officers from the KIND drug team—made up of police from Kingsford, Iron Mountain, Norway, and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office—apparently received a tip that a male suspect would be arriving by train in Milwaukee Sunday.  He was picked up by a man and woman from the Iron Mountain area.  Police stopped the car in Crivitz, Wisconsin that night, and with help from a K-9 found an unknown amount of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.

The Northeast Tri-County Drug Enforcement Group and KIND drug unit arrested a 46-year-old man from Othello, Washington; a 33-year-old man from Iron Mountain; and a 36-year-old female from Kingsford.  All are charged with intent to deliver over 50 grams of methamphetamine.  Two are also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspects remain lodged in the Marinette County Jail.  Their names are being withheld, pending arraignment.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
