Delta County man jailed for assault

ESCANABA, MI--   An Escanaba man is facing criminal charges for the second time in three years. 

Michael Scott Jones, 22, was arrested Thursday on six charges, including assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and fleeing and eluding an officer.  He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail.

Jones was also arrested in 2012 for home invasion and felonious assault.  He was sentenced to 11 months in jail. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
