Delta County man arrested for threatening to detonate a bomb

MASONVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Rapid River man has been arrested for making terroristic threats and trying to make a bomb.  

State Police at the Gladstone Post say the incident happened Friday night in Masonville Township.  An investigation was launched after 28-year-old James Lee Bugg—a convicted felon—made threats on the internet that he was going to build an explosive device and harm people in a public venue. 

Bugg was arrested without incident at his home on several felony charges.  He remains at the Delta County Jail without bond.

State police were assisted by the FBI and the ATF.  The case remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
