Delta County agencies to sign cooperative child abuse investigation procedures

ESCANABA, MI--   Several Delta County agencies are celebrating the next step in the creation of a regional Child Advocacy Center.

The Delta County Department of Health and Human Services is hosting the signing of a multidisciplinary team protocol for child abuse investigations Wednesday. Prosecutor Phil Strom says several presentations will discuss efforts to address child abuse and neglect. The team will also announce the staff for the new center.

The project is spearheaded by the Northern Michigan Mobile Child Advocacy Center nonprofit group, which is using a grant to establish the center in a centralized location.

The signing is open to the public. It takes place Wednesday at 4 p.m. at 305 Ludington Street in Escanaba.
