Cloverland selling internet company

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   Cloverland Electric is selling one of its subsidiary companies.

In 1997 the utility bought Lighthouse Computers, which provided dial-up internet and computer sales and service.

Cloverland President and CEO, Dan Dasho, says much has changed over the years. He says equipment and technology is constantly upgrading, and what’s now Lighthouse.net needs to be operated by a true telecommunications company.

On January 1 ownership of Lighthouse will shift to CCI Systems of Iron Mountain. It will be managed by CCI’s cable operator, Packerland Broadband. Packerland serves more than 7,000 subscribers in Wisconsin and South Central Upper Michigan.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
