City of Marquette begins construction on Fair Avenue

MARQUETTE, MI--   Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 12, Fair Avenue between McClellan Avenue and Gray Avenue will be closed to through traffic for Phase 1 reconstruction work.  

This is the first of three phases. This phase is expected to last three weeks. 

The Fair Avenue work will detour traffic to down McClellan Avenue, Wright Street and Woodland Avenue. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour and advisory signing. 

A phasing schematic can be accessed at the City of Marquette Engineering Division web site under the Fair Avenue Reconstruction Project link at www.mqtcty.org.  

Smith Construction Company is the general contractor for this project.  

The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process.
