Children removed from home after woman's arrest on cocaine charges

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Ishpeming Township woman was arrested and four children placed with Child Protective Services following a drug bust Monday.

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team obtained a search warrant after receiving information that the homeowners were selling drugs. A search of a home at Sunny Side Estates uncovered 16 grams of cocaine along with several loaded handguns and rifles.

Detectives arrested a 32-year-old woman who lived at the house for possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and four felony counts of endangering a child. Police say the living conditions in the home were found to be a danger to the children’s safety.

Additional arrests are pending.
