Chase/shooting reported in Alger County

MUNISING, MI--   A suspect in an Alger County domestic violence incident has been shot after he led police on a high-speed chase.

WLUC-TV reports Munising Police were searching for the man and his car Monday night.  When they found the suspect he fled in his vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The chase ended when the subject crashed on Buckhorn Road off of H-13.  At that point shots were fired and the suspect was apparently hit.  His condition is unknown.

Michigan State Police from Alger and Marquette counties are assisting in the case.

Troopers are holding a press conference Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Munising City Police Department.
