Caron sentenced for child sexually abusive activity

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Forsyth Township man charged with having child pornography and engaging in sexual activity with a child has been sentenced.

Andrew Caron, 43, was arrested last November and charged with ten counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and 29 counts of child sexually abusive activity.  He pleaded guilty in August to two counts of first-degree CSC and two counts of child sexually abusive activity. 

Caron reportedly had sexual contact with a relative when she was between the ages of eight and 13.  Officials also found child pornography on his computer.

Caron was sentenced Friday to 28 to 50 years in prison on each CSC count and eight years for each pornography charge.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
