Bridge walk approaching

ST. IGNACE, MI (AP)--   More than 40,000 people are expected to take part in this year's Labor Day walk across the Mackinac Bridge.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will kick off the 5-mile walk between the state's two peninsulas at 7 a.m. Sept. 7. Walkers can start their trek after Snyder and up until 11 a.m.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is asking people participating to share photos and video on social media, with one person chosen at random to get a tour atop the Mackinac Bridge.
