LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Legislation that would allow passengers to drink beer or wine aboard pedal-powered trolleys is getting mixed reviews from people who operate them.
Lawmakers sent bills to Governor Rick Snyder that would make drinks an option on so-called quadricycles. They're popular in Grand Rapids, Traverse City and Marquette, especially as a way to go from brewery to brewery.
Kevin Farron, owner of TC Cycle Pub, a pedaling cab in Traverse City, says he's lost business because riders can't drink. But the owner of Great Lakes Pub Cruiser in Grand Rapids is against the proposed law.
