NEGAUNEE, MI (AP)--   The Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee is hosting two guided bicycle tours this month along the backbone of the Marquette Iron Range.

One tour was held Friday and the other is scheduled for July 29.

They begin at the museum at 9 a.m. and run along the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, which features historic sites and stories of life during the mining era that began in the mid-1800s.

Interpretive stops include the Carp River Forge site, the Jackson Mine, Old Towne Negaunee and the site of the Pioneer Furnace.

The $25 fee covers the tour, lunch, a documentary film showing and a museum souvenir.
