WASHINGTON, D.C.-- The U.S. House has passed legislation to overhaul how the Veterans Administration
operates and handles problem employees.
The bill includes an amendment by Congressman Dan Benishek, called the Demanding Accountability for Veterans Act. It would require the VA to name those in the department who are responsible for fixing problems identified in Inspector General reports.
It also requires the IG to identify parts of their reports that the VA has asked it to alter, and allows for the removal of problem employees without extended delays.
