Marquette County Medical Care Facility Millage Renewal

For the purpose of renewing the millage for Marquette County Medical Care Facility, shall the limitation on the total amount of taxes on all property in Marquette County be continued in the amount of .55 mills (55 cents per one $1,000 of state taxable value on real and personal property) to be levied for five years (2015-2019, inclusively) for the purpose of funding Marquette County's current and future obligations for the County Medical Care Facility located at the Frank S. Valente building (This proposal will raise approximately $1,254,166 in the first year.)

Bonding Proposal

Shall Gwinn Area Community Schools, Marquette County, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed One Million Five Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($1,560,000) and issue its general obligation unlimated tax bonds therefor, for the purpose of:

  •     partially remodeling, furnishing and refurnishing, equipping and re-equipping school facilities;     
  •     purchasing school buses;
  •     acquiring, installing and equipping instructional technology for school facilities;
  •     and developing and improving sites?

Millage Proposal, Building and Site Sinking Fund Tax Levy

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Gwinn Area Community Schools, Marquette County, Michigan be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed 1 mill ($1.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2015-2024, inclusive, to create sinking fund for the construction or repair of school buildings and all other purposes authorized by law; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2015 is approximately $276,800?

Ishpeming Township

Police Protection Millage

Shall Ishpeming Township impose an increase of up to one (1) mill ($1.00 per $1,000 taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for twenty (20) years, 2015 through 2034 inclusive, for the operation and maintenance of the Ishpeming Township Police Department, which one (1) mill increase will raise an estimated $103,823 in the first year the millage is levied.

Senior Millage Renewal

Shall the City of Marquette, Marquette County, Michigan be authorized to levy .3500 of one mill ($0.35 per $1,000) on the taxable value of all real and personal property within the City of Marquette for a period of five (5) years (2016-2020 inclusive) in order to provide quality services to Marquette City residents age sixty (60) and older.  This millage will generate approximately $238,781 in the first year.
