MARQUETTE, MI-- Marquette has a new city manager… at least for a little while.
Former City Police Chief Mike Angeli was unanimously voted into the post by the Marquette City Commission Monday night. He was also given a certificate of appreciation for his service as chief.
Angeli was named acting city manager after Bill Vajda resigned September 4.
Angeli has signed a two-year contract with the city and officially starts Monday. He’s spent the last 39 years with the Marquette Police Department—the last eight as chief.
