Alleged Marquette stabber identified

MARQUETTE, MI--   Police have released the names of two men involved in a stabbing incident in Marquette over the weekend.

Investigation indicates 19-year-olds Caine Shiefel and Garrin Heller of Sawyer got into an altercation Sunday morning in the area of Division and Mesnard streets.  Heller was stabbed twice in the chest and abdomen.

Both men were taken to Upper Peninsula Health System Marquette with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shiefel was arrested for assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, resisting and obstructing police, and malicious destruction of property.  He remains lodged at the Marquette County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
