Alcohol suspected in Alger County crash

ALGER COUNTY, MI--   A Marquette County man is hospitalized, following a crash in Alger County.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post say it happened Sunday around 1:15 a.m. on M-94 near Rumley Road. Investigation indicates the 46-year-old driver had been eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the roadway, and overturned.

The man was taken to UPHS-Marquette with serious injuries.

Troopers say alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
