Acting president named at LSSU

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   Lake Superior State University has named David Roland Finley acting president of the school while officials search for a permanent replacement.

Finley steps into the role left vacant by Thomas Pleger, who died May 7 after a brief illness. The university’s Board of Trustees made the announcement Friday.

Finley has been serving for the past year as LSSU’s interim provost and vice president for academic affairs, as well as the dean of the schools of engineering and business.

Finley will manage general operations at Lake State as the Board starts a process toward finding a new president.
