Acid trip makes NMU student violent, results in arrest

MARQUETTE, MI--   NMU Public Safety and Police Services is investigating the illegal use of alleged LSD on campus.

Police say the “acid” a student took caused the student to become uncontrollable and extremely violent. The student was hospitalized and eventually arrested.

Officers are urging those on campus to be cautious of their surroundings and careful of anything they’re given to eat or drink.

Anyone with information about the distribution of illegal drugs is asked to call Public Safety at 227-2151. Reports can also be made on an anonymous tip line, at nmu.edu/crimetips.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
