Event Description

On Tuesday, April 17, at 12:30 pm, the Peter White Public Library will show the 2017 film, The Greatest Showman, in the library’s community room as part of its Matinee Movie series. Bring your own lunch and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all. P.T. Barnum, son of a tailor, begins his career by opening a wax museum. He later becomes a collector of the unique and extraordinary, displaying his collection in a circus which many call a freak show. How will his ambition, however, affect his family life? Starring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams and Zac Efron, this biographical musical is rated PG and runs 1 hour 45 minutes. It won a Golden Globe for the best original song and the Heartland Film Truly Moving Picture Award. There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
